The Bracken Basic Concept Scale Third Edition consists of the Receptive test (BBCS-3:R) and the Expressive test (BBCS-3:E). BBCS-3:R assesses children's cognitive and language development using non-verbal tasks, wile BBCS-3:E requires the child to verbally respond. The Bracken Basic Concept Scale, which aligns with IDEA 2004 requirements, can screen children for school readiness and identify those with developmental delays.
