Designed to assess the mindsets of mathematics teachers at the middle and high school levels in teaching mathematics to African American students. The Culturally Responsive Teaching Self-Efficacy Scale (CRTSE) is a survey that assess teachers’ beliefs that engaging in culturally responsive teaching practices will have positive classroom and student outcomes. The scale is based on Bandura's (1977) research on outcome expectancies (a person's estimate that a given behavior will lead to certain outcomes), and Siwatu's (2006) research on Culturally Responsive Teaching Competencies. Survey respondents rate from 0 to 100 the probability that a certain culturally responsive teaching behavior will lead to positive classroom and student outcomes. The scale has primarily been used to support the development of preservice teachers.

NAEP Civics measures civic knowledge and skills related to the responsibilities of citizenship. It is congressionally mandated and administered by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). Currently, NAEP Civics is administered only to Grade 8 students. In the past, the assessment was also administered to Grade 4 and Grade 12 students.

The National Survey of Science and Mathematics Education (NSSME) is a periodically administered national survey that collects information from teachers and administrators about STEM offerings in schools. The teacher surveys cover a broad range of topics, including demographic information, experience, pedagogical approaches, professional development, curriculum use, and collaboration. The survey also collects information about teachers' perceptions of how schools are encouraging and supporting student participation in STEM.

The measure is designed for use by preservice teachers to assess the extent to which their beliefs and confidence in giving feedback align with research on quality feedback. The civics portion of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Naturalization Test consists of 100 potential items (typically 10 randomly drawn in USCIS practice) and assesses those applying for citizenship on their knowledge of U.S. history and government. Numerous states also utilize some form of this test as a graduation requirement for high school students.
