The Bracken Basic Concept Scale Third Edition consists of the Receptive test (BBCS-3:R) and the Expressive test (BBCS-3:E). The Iowa Assessments replaced the Iowa Tests of Basic Skills (ITBS) and Iowa Test of Educational Development (ITED) in 2011-2012 to align with the Iowa Common Core Standards. The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) mathematics assessment is given every two years to students at grades 4 and 8, and approximately every four years at grade 12. The assessment measures both mathematics knowledge and the students’ ability to apply their knowledge in problem-solving situations. The results present a broad view of students’ mathematics knowledge, skills, and performance over time. The most recent mathematics assessment was given in 2019 to approximately 149,500 students in grade 4 and 147,400 students in grade 8. The instruments used in the NAEP mathematics assessment are composed of blocks of cognitive items from the previous NAEP assessments, as well as blocks that are newly developed for the current assessment.

The Predictive Assessment of Reading (PAR) can be used to measure a student's reading level, identify skills in need of intervention, monitor progress, and predict future reading achievement. The assessment contains four reading subtests that can be administered to special needs, gifted, ELL students, and developing students in grades PreK-3. PAR is offered in both English and Spanish, though the Spanish version is intended to be taken after the English version to determine whether a student's difficulties are only in English or exist across both languages.

PLS-5 is a comprehensive developmental language assessment designed for children from ages birth through 7:11 that evaluates pre-verbal skills through emerging reading skills. This assessment focuses on receptive and expressive language skills and provides both norm-referenced and criterion-referenced scores. The diagnostic test can be administered by a trained professional. PLS-5 also offers screening tests for a broad spectrum of speech and language skills and a diagnostic test to identify students at risk for language and speech disorders. The tests can be administered in English and Spanish.

The PSAT 8/9 is a standardized test administered by CollegeBoard for 8th and 9th graders. The math section emphasizes problem solving, modeling, using tools strategically, and using algebraic structure. A total of 38 questions, the math section is divided into a calculator and no-calculator sections.
